Musician Ykee Benda’s parents have been thrown out of their home in Kireka after the singer failed to pay a loan.
The singer- real name Wycliffe Tugume- acquired a bank loan using his family home as collateral. The home is, or was rather located in Kireka off Namugongo Road next to St. Gonzaga Catholic church.
The parents and siblings were evicted about a month ago and currently rent a simple house in Bulindo.
A close source tells Xclusive UG star Ykee acquired the loan in around 2019 and used the money to fund his record label Mpaka Records.
Unfortunately for him, less than a year after he got the loan, Covid 19 happened.
Business froze. For the next year or more, Ykee Benda like most other Ugandans and people all over the globe didn’t work.
To make matters worse for Ykee, soon after the end of the lockdown, his right-hand man and singer Dre Cali- signed to his label- disappeared to Canada.
Ykee, we are told, had used part of the loan to invest heavily in branding, marketing and making Dre Cali a superstar.

He hoped to earn huge monies from him. This was not to be.
With slow business, Ykee struggled to pay his loan facility and about a month ago, his family was furiously thrown out. This development has caused a major rift among family members with some insisting the parents shouldn’t have allowed Ykee to use the house as collateral.
“This is their home, this is where all the children were raised. It’s unfortunate and it’s tearing the family apart. Ofcourse the parents wants harmony among their children but Ykee’s siblings are bitter,” a source said.
